Successes
I think the most successful task I accomplished was figuring out the animation and transitions between different animations. I was struggled with the jumping animation which when the character jump it would freeze, but I worked it out that it is because of the layer setting of grounded. Otherwise, I think the animation part went quite well.
Failures
I was stuck on fixing the animation trigger after scene change. I want to have the dead animation on the dead scene instead of after hitting the boss on the main scene, but I have not yet figure out how. So at last we decided to use a black box to hide the original animation and placed a new dead animation on top of it (which do not actually have the player script but have the some movement).
Lessons Learned
Because our group member actually worked together once before, we had a very clear workflow learned from last assignment. We communicate very well and efficient this time. In terms of dividing the tasks, we learned that we could never work individually. All of us have to understand each other’s work to make this game.
Future Development
For our future improvement, I wish we can add more sound effect and background music. Also learned from people’s comment, that we should reconsider the hardness of each level and adjust character’s movement.
